Acronis Ransomware Protection: how to create a backup

Acronis Active Protection can create file-level backups (you can select files or folders, but not disks or your whole computer) to Acronis Cloud. Backup starts automatically every 15 minutes.

We recommend to back up your most important files.

How to create backups?

To create a backup:

1. Start Acronis Ransomware Protection.
2. To specify the files and folders that you want to back up, do one of the following:
   
   Select files or folders on your computer internal disks. Do not select files from a network share (a folder on another computer or a NAS device).
   • In File Explorer or other file manager, select the files and folders, and then drag them to the Acronis Ransomware Protection window.
     
   • Click Add them manually, and then browse to the folders on your disks.
     

The backup starts automatically.

How long are backups kept?

Acronis Ransomware Protection keeps:

• all backups from the last hour
• 1st backup for every hour from the last day
• 1st backup for every day from the last week
• 1st backup for every week from the last month
• 1st backup for every month until all backup data destination space is used
