Acronis True Image 2018 Beta: installation on Windows XP fails

Symptoms

1. You are installing Acronis True Image 2018 Beta on a Windows XP computer.
2. You are prompted to check the account to use for running the program:
   
3. You leave the current user selected and click OK.
4. Installation fails with "Acronis True Image 2018 Installer Shell has encountered a problem and needs to close":
   

Cause

Issue in the product.

Solution

The issue will be resolved in the coming builds.

As workaround, run the installation again and uncheck the Protect my computer and data from unauthorized program activity check box:

You can safely leave this option unchecked. Acronis True Image 2018 Beta does not access your data except for the data you have selected for the backup or other operations.

Finish installation.
