You try to start Acronis Disk Director, but it fails with the following error message:

Can not connect to 'localhost'.

details
Code: 5.242.881 (0x500001)

Message: Failed to obtain parameter 'Windows name'.

Cause

This issue is often caused by WMI corruption in the Windows OS. WMI stands for Windows Management Instrumentation, it is used by Acronis to get information about disks, system and services. If WMI becomes corrupted, it cannot process requests from Acronis, which causes failure of Acronis Disk Director.

Solution

Follow KB 62731 or Microsoft article to troubleshoot WMI issue.

If it doesn't help, contact Microsoft Support to fix the WMI corruption.
